Busy Day

Today is going to be very busy for me, and I don't want to have to let Betty win!!! So I was up early taking photos. The first one is sunrise. Sure there are power lines, but I can't get away from them and the sun peeping through the palm fronds is just gorgeous. I feel like Michael - Windwalker for just a moment.

The following 2 are everyday sights. On the way back from school stands a lonely grader in a field of fog. They are supposed to build a huge community complex there....... one of these fine days. And then my street. We are the 3rd house up on the right.


Last, but not least........ a dead branch. This plant normally produces pretty pink flowers.

Odds 'N' Ends

Spent all day at home cleaning. Took a photo of the guest bed. So pretty....... all made up nicely with Rachel Ashwell sheets. I'm missing some pillows cuz I need to buy new ones tomorrow. Time to throw out the old grungy ones. Eewwww...

So this is Angela. The neighbour's daughter. She comes over all the time. She helped Kane wiht his homework and here she's looking at a photo album.

So I got a GF lightsphere for my birthday and tried it out for the first time on this little girl.

Tried to get some of Kane, but he hid from me. Good hiding spot Kane!!! I can see you thru the mesh you fool!!

Reverse Lens

So I was telling Betty about the reverse lens trick where you take your lens off your camera, turn the lens around so that the part that attaches to the camera is held against the opening of the body of the camera and you end up with an f/stop of zero. You adjust your ISO settings and shutter speed to let in the light you need. So macro is not my strong point and of course neither is reverse lens because it is in essence a form of macro. So here is my entry for today......... day 2 of the challenge.
I really hate that the Buddha's boobs are in focus and his nose and cheeks are not. I guess I should have tried again. But I feel lazy today. Sorry! Heidi........ please help. You are the very best at macro.

I just knew that today would bring something special. When I picked my son up from school, he told me this girl from his class gave him something in a bag and he was not to open it till he got home. Well this is what it was............




Is this the look of LOVE. Is it TRUE love? I don't know how I'll behave the day he tells me he's really in love and is going to get married.

What's in YOUR yard?

The pretty leaves are in my yard. Not the toilet. I have to tell you what inspired me to take this. I was driving out of my neighborhood on Saturday when I saw that someone had left a toilet on the side of the road for the garbage truck to collect (I am assuming). I just find it quite bizarre that someone would throw away a toilet. It just looks odd to see a toilet on the sidewalk. Then I remembered that my neighbor has this toilet in his yard near the fence that divides our yard from his yard and thought it would make a good subject. I have other ideas that I'd like to set up and take photos of using this toilet. So definitely check back soon to see if I pull it off. Take that literally...........

Tomorrow is the DAY

The start of something that I'm not even sure that I can keep up with. But the heat is on and the race begins to see who can do this. It weeds out those who have NO LIFE to those who are possibly generating some sort of business for themselves or for others...most certainly not for themselves! This might just put me bang smack in the middle of the NO LIFE LOSERS! lol
