Cute kids

I love these children. Their mother tutors my kids.......... she's cute too. So his her husband. Just one cute family.

There's William, the big boy of the family. When Dad's not home, he's in charge!

Then we have the middle child, Zachary. Brilliant but mysterious brown eyes.
Then last, but not least, we have Miss Riley also known as Miss America or Miss Thang.

Boys on Bikes

This afternoon provided a great photo opportunity for me. The boys on their bikes. They made this little jump and are very proud of it. All I ever hear is "Look! Look at what I can do!"
This is the best thing about living off a dirt road and living in a neighbourhood that has no homeowners association.

Later on we were all outside (the adults) chatting and watching the kids and I shot my neighbour. I am going to make a mock up business card for him using this photo! LOL!

How to put a chick to sleep

My neighbour has these adorable baby chicks. Angela showed me how to put one to sleep. Put it in the palm of your hand, cover with other hand.........remove hand and it's asleep within seconds. I tried it too and it worked! Amazing!

Determined

I don't think I'm going to stop this high key thing till I get it. I still had to do quite a bit of Photoshopping on these before showing them off. I had some hot spots etc. Kato was quite annoyed with me by the end of this. He tried to bite me! LOL!

I turned down the shutter speed to 1/60 f/3.5 or 4...... don't remember. And ISO200

BUBBLE-ISHOUS

I tried Heidi's club soda technique. The first image is just my 50mm with natural light. You can see the reflection of my windows and doors in the image. Duh....... I totally forgot about that. Anyway, club soda loses its bubbles fast. So no more for today.
The rest are reverse lens close ups. I used star fruit and grapefruit slices. The pink is a desert rose flower.

Want to do high key

I just don't have enough lights. I tried to do this by using my flash and the remote for the flash. Had the flash behind the toy facing the wall. But when I set it as ISO100, then I got a silhouette of Elmo, so I ended up stopping down to ISO1000. So if anyone has any ideas on how to improve this without pulling out my strobe or buying 3 more lights, I'd like to hear it. I am going to also post this on LDPT.
